Buenos Aires and Barcelona in week six (LATAM 2019)
I’ve only got three days left on my trip this week and it’s a weird feeling. I’ve definitely enjoyed the variety my trip has brought me so far, but I think I’m almost ready to go home. The days alone pass by at a weird pace. Fast and yet slow at the same time. My mind is starting to live more in the future than the present, as I think of what I will be doing when I get home. My career break is coming to an end and that’s an odd sensation. I’ve achieved most of what I set out to do during that time and now it’s time…

Buenos Aires, Iguazú and Colonia in week five (LATAM 2019)
Week five of my travels is starting and although I am really excited, I also feel a little apprehensive. I only have two more weeks left on my trip and the large majority of my travels have already been completed. This week is also the last week that I will be spending with Ashley. She’ll be leaving in a few days and then I’ll be flying solo once again. I can be a very independent person, but I do enjoy company. That being said, there are some great adventures coming up this week, so it’s time to focus on the present instead of living in the future already! Day…

Cusco, Santiago and Valparaiso in week four (LATAM 2019)
I’m starting my fourth week of travel now and I think it’s going to be an interesting week. For one, I’m going to be able to get out of Cusco soon – yay! Honestly, I never thought I would be saying that. Especially, when getting here was a long-standing dream. However, that’s how life works, isn’t it? You think you want one thing, you get it, and then you realise you actually need something else. In my case, I need to be on lower ground again. I need to be able to eat a full meal again and I need to get back to developed civilisation. My flight to Santiago can’t…

San Luis Potosí, Ixtapaluca and Cusco in week three (LATAM 2019) – Part 2
It’s time to go explore Peru! Machu Picchu has been an item on my bucket list since it was first created in 2012. That being the case, you will understand that I’m ever so slightly excited about this part of my journey! If it weren’t for that single bucket list item, this whole trip would not be happening. That makes it kind of a big deal for me. Having said that though, due to my recent health issues, I’ve had to make some minor (ok major…) adjustments to this part of the adventure. Originally, Ashley and I were going to take a stab at the 2-5 day hiking opportunities for…

San Luis Potosí, Ixtapaluca and Cusco in week three (LATAM 2019) – Part 1
I have a bit of a whirlwind romance with San Luis Potosí, I must admit. The first time I went there was in December 2017. I remember being so excited about it at the time. The journey was actually a complete surprise to my itinerary. Originally, I was supposed to be completing a company project management course at home in Prague. Then, quite suddenly, the course was moved to Mexico a few weeks before the start. I had an Indian wedding in Jaipur a couple of days before, so my travel schedule was pretty hectic. Nevertheless, I relished the opportunity to go visit a new county and add it to…
