Just For One Moment

Just for one moment, you were there

Just for one moment, a magical affair

I didn’t know it at the time

But that beautiful magic had a secret chime

A secret that would shock and sting

A secret that would change everything

No more chances to get on a plane

No more chances to sail and reign

Just for one moment, the dream seemed real

But now it’s time to to say adieu and feel

The Imperfect Illusion

You built me up
You shot me down

I stand now feeling
Like a clown

With a face
Of fallen paint

With a heartbeat
Oh so faint

With a hurt
That’s oh so strong

With a mind
That doesn’t belong

The reality is
I heard your reasons

The reality is
I understand

And yet that doesn’t change the fact
That now my feelings run like sand

Sprinkled into every direction
Flowing quickly out of hand

Leaving a mess
Saying “We did warn her”

Leaving a crevice
Saying “Let’s go scorn her”

It really feels like a very bad dream
A movie perhaps of a fallen queen

The Rose – By Bette Midler

Some say love, it is a river
That drowns the tender reed
Some say love, it is a razor
That leaves your soul to bleed
Some say love, it is a hunger
An endless aching need
I say love, it is a flower
And you, its only seed

It’s the heart, afraid of breaking
That never learns to dance
It’s the dream, afraid of waking
That never takes the chance
It’s the one who won’t be taken
Who cannot seem to give
And the soul, afraid of dying
That never learns to live

When the night has been too lonely
And the road has been too long

Dear 2012

Two thousand and twelve,
Into you I delve.

All the things that you showed,
All the lessons you sowed.

You brought me laughter,
You brought me strife.

Altogether you taught me,
A lot about life.

You brought me love,
You brought me laughter.

You brought me heartbreak,
And some disaster.

Although through you,
There’s much I’ve been through.

I do believe,
My heart stayed true.

To who I am,
And who I shall be.

Thank you so much for teaching me,
More about me.

Though the journey’s not over,
There’s more to come.

I can only hope,

The Imperfect Stranger

As I walked into the bar,
He glanced at me from afar.
I hardly noticed, sat down still,
Ordered a drink, to start my fill.

Slowly, slowly, we were introduced,
The table jovial, drinks tongues loosed.
We caught a moment, just one quick,
To say hello and seek to click.

One awkward sentence, another followed,
The air unusual, all charm hollowed.
Then he looked into my eyes,
And at that moment a smile did rise.

The smile was beautiful, oh so bright,
I couldn’t help but feel delight.
Later flowed words of past, future and present,

One Day

Sitting, sitting,
Waiting, waiting,
Listening for you.

Eating, eating,
Sleeping, sleeping,
Dreaming all night through.

Staying, staying,
Praying, praying,
Hoping to see you.

Laughing, laughing,
Dancing, dancing,
One day real love will brew.

Arctic Melody

Sitting, sitting, sitting in the moonlight

Watching, watching, watching as the world flies by

Drinking my mojito by the seaside

Thinking, thinking, thinking in that hammock of mine

Where, where, where am I going?

How, how, how do I know what’s right?

Loving, loving, loving the feeling

Of knowing, knowing, knowing that I am alive

New Years Wish

To all of you that I call friends,
I love you ’til the very end.

To all of you I don’t know well,
I wish the best dreams you can tell.

Two thousand and twelve is now no more,
But let this year not end a chore.

The future is coming,
Have no fear.

Keep your friends close,
Hold them dear.

In the end they’ll get you through,
That’s how your life will never stay blue!

Lost

Looking in the mirror
What do I see?

Someone who doesn’t
Look like me?

She looks as I should
She smiles as I would

Yet somehow the reflection’s
Just too good

Different to what
I perceive as real

Showing emotions
I do not feel

The inside and outside
Are disconnected

How is it that I am
So reflected?

It’s possible one day
I’ll see the truth

Finally realise
What I see is just youth

When that day comes
I hope to be ready

To think, act and feel
Confidently, wisely and steady.

Turning Point

There comes a time where things must end,
A time at which your will must bend.

Think of the good you had before,
Think what the future has in store.

Enjoy that which has come to pass,
And see the next stories come to last.

Life moves on- it’s only right,
What would it be worth without a fight?

Smile every day and spread the joy,
Who knows, one day you may conquer troy.
